Regarding the design of the bathroom, as long as the distribution rules are mastered, and each functional area is properly allocated according to the actual usage habits, it can be made comfortable and clean.
So what should be done to make the bathroom more humane?

Let’s start with the layout of the bathroom here and give you a careful analysis, let’s take a look!
Basic configuration--dry and wet separation

Dry and wet separation is the basis before the layout, and the separation style is determined according to the size of the space:
When the overall space is too small and feels a little cramped, the wet area (shower area) is presented in the form of shower curtain + water retaining strip, which can relieve the cramped feeling to a certain extent and also play a role of separation;
In the case of normal or large space, the design style of the wet area (shower area) is presented as a separate shower room, which can be completed by full glass enclosure, wall partition or glass half partition.
Tips: The bathroom area and the actual separation plan

① If the overall area is between 2 and 5 square meters, it is mainly divided into two parts, that is, the wash area and the toilet area are the dry area; the shower area is the wet area;
② If the overall area is between 5-8 square meters, it is mainly divided into three parts, that is, the washing area, the toilet area and the shower area are independent of each other;
③ When the overall area is greater than or equal to 8 square meters, if there is a need to add a laundry area, the four-separation form can be adopted. Although the four functions are in the same space, they are still independent and do not affect their respective use.
Layout method--modeling division
Generally speaking, bathrooms have two shapes: rectangular and square. Depending on the shape, the layout is slightly different.
01. Rectangular layout

The rectangular bathroom has a large depth and has an inherent advantage in the separation of dry and wet. When laying out, you can refer to the following methods:
Parallel distribution

The entire space is divided into three parts. The entry (broadside) is followed by the washing area, the toilet area and the shower area. The three functional areas are arranged side by side, with smooth moving lines and practical comfort.
The entrance (long side) is directly opposite to the washing area. The toilet area and the shower area are arranged on two sides. The shower area is best located behind the door. The glass is used as a partition to avoid obstacles between each other.
① The size of the toilet area should be ≥70㎝, the size of the shower area should be ≥90㎝, and the size of the two spaces should not be lower than the minimum value, which will affect daily use;
② The size of the wash area should be determined with reference to the size of the bathroom cabinet purchased;
③ Select the style of the shower area according to the actual size. If the space is cramped, choose the water barrier (the height should be as high as possible); if the space is sufficient, choose the glass sliding door for partition.
solid wall cutting
If the area is sufficient, a new wall can be built directly to completely isolate the wash area from the toilet and shower, so that in daily use, even if there is only one toilet, it will not affect the sharing of the family.
Triangle alignment

Rectangular bathrooms with smaller depths are mostly arranged in a triangular manner. Commonly, the shower room is located in the middle, and the toilet and the washbasin are aligned diagonally; the positions can also be exchanged according to the actual situation.
Among them, the design of shower room is mostly presented in fan shape or diamond shape, which can effectively save space and realize separate design.

02. Square layout
Because it is an equidistant space, the layout is slightly different, but the overall implementation is also difficult. The basic layout is as follows:
T-shaped distribution
The shower room is on the innermost side, and the washstand and the toilet area face each other in parallel.

According to the actual area of the shower room, you can choose a rectangular or square shape. If you feel uncomfortable facing the shower room when you open the door, you can also replace it with a diamond-shaped shower room to reduce the discomfort of diagonal collisions.

Triangular arrangement
The toilet, shower room and wash area are arranged in a triangle, the moving line is comfortable, the aisle is sufficient, and the toilet space is effectively saved, which is a more practical layout.
① The reserved size of the aisle is recommended to be between 0.9-1.2m, which is convenient for passage;
② It is recommended to keep a distance of 15-20 cm between the toilet and the shower area in order to prevent bumps in daily use;
③ If the overall area is too narrow, do not consider the position of the bathtub, generally choose a shower.
